Direct Care Staff Positions for clients with disabilities and special needs.
On-Site Application / Monday - Thursday 8:30 am until 3:30 pm

Full & part-time positions; $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Intellectual Disability Specialist
Due West, Edgefield, Greenwood, McCormick, Saluda, Lexington, and/or Ware Shoals
Full-time and part-time positions available. 2nd, and/or 3rd shift - weekdays and/or weekends.
$13.00 per hour & up!
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Experience working with disabilities and special needs preferred.
Licenses: Valid SC driver’s license
General Requirements: Clear oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirement: Direct care to include: bathing, dressing and assistance with toileting.
Lift 25 lbs. frequently and 50lbs occasionally.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and squat.
Ability to stand or walk for long period of time.
Ability to drive and transport individuals to include wheel chair bound.
Under the supervision of Coordinator, Supervisor or QIDP, trains and provide care for individuals with disabilities and special needs as specified in each individuals facilitated or behavioral plan. Accountable for relevant documentation.
Transports individuals to and from work, appointments, shopping, trips, etc.
Trains individuals in independent living skills, social skills, proper work skills and other areas as specified in each individual’s facilitated or behavioral plan. Documents progress on a monthly basis.
Acts as an advocate for individuals.
Participates in team meetings as needed.
Assists in carrying out recreational outings.
Responsible for adhering to and knowing Burton Center DSN Board and SCDDSN policies and procedures.
Attends meetings and in-service training as assigned.
Assists individuals in their correspondence, letter writing, personal phone calls, etc.
Insures that adequate food is available in the home as needed for menus.
Responsible for meal preparation.
Assures individuals are appropriately dressed at all times, completes monthly documentation of individual’s personal property.
Responsible for general housekeeping duties.
Completes documentation accurately as required.
May be required to work at other homes if needed.
Work one on one coverage with individual if required.
Assist in management of individuals’ funds (CTH II and SLP II)
Responsible for administering medications. (CTH II & SLP II)
Responsible for monitoring individuals in meal preparation. (CTH II & SLP II)
Responsible for training and assisting individuals to clean and care for house, apartment or room.(CTH II & SLP II)
